1. SCOPE OF SERVICES
Aureus provides professional services including:
• Accounting and bookkeeping
• Tax preparation, planning, and compliance
• Fractional CFO and advisory services
• Payroll compliance support
• Entity structuring and business consulting
• Multi-state compliance and registrations
• Financial analysis and reporting
Services are delivered pursuant to a signed engagement letter through Ignition or another mutually agreed format.
Only the services listed in your engagement letter are included.
2. PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Aureus will:
• Provide services with due professional care
• Maintain confidentiality per IRS Circular 230 and state accountancy rules
• Follow applicable laws, standards, and ethical guidelines
• Provide accurate guidance based on the information you provide
• Use secure systems, including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, and encrypted file storage
We do not guarantee outcomes, tax positions, or third-party decisions (e.g., IRS responses).
3. CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES
You agree to:
• Provide accurate, complete, and timely information
• Respond to Aureus requests in a timely manner
• Maintain your own copies of records provided to Aureus
• Review deliverables upon receipt
• Notify Aureus of material changes that may affect your tax or financial situation
Aureus is not responsible for delays caused by incomplete or missing information.
4. FEES & PAYMENTS
• All fees are outlined in your signed engagement letter.
• Payments may be processed through Ignition, QuickBooks Online, or other secure channels.
• Outstanding invoices may pause or delay ongoing services.
• Refunds are not provided for completed work.
5. USE OF COMMUNICATION CHANNELS
Aureus may communicate with you via:
• Email (Outlook)
• Microsoft Teams
• SMS/text messaging
• Phone calls or voicemail
• SharePoint secure links for document upload
SMS Compliance
Aureus Advisory Partners may send service-related SMS messages, including appointment confirmations, document requests, and engagement updates.
Message frequency varies; recurring messages may be sent as needed to support your services.

Aureus Advisory Partners collects opt-in verbally at their locations or over the phone. When a customer is registered for the first time, they are asked to provide the phone number, and staff is trained to ask if the customer would like to opt in to SMS-based notifications. They will be verbally informed that "Message and data rates may apply", "Message frequency may vary", and they can "text HELP for support or more information and STOP to unsubscribe at any time". They will also be informed that their phone number will not be shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.

6. USE OF EXTERNAL SYSTEMS
Aureus may access or use third-party tools necessary for service delivery, including:
• QuickBooks Online
• Gusto
• Adobe Sign
• Microsoft 365
• Ignition
• Zapier
• SharePoint/OneDrive
You authorize Aureus to access these systems as needed to perform contracted services.
We do not control the security or policies of third-party platforms.
7. CONFIDENTIALITY & DATA SECURITY
Aureus maintains strict confidentiality standards, including IRS Circular 230, state accountancy rules, and industry security requirements.
We use:
• Encrypted Microsoft 365 storage
• Multi-factor authentication
• Role-based access controls
• Limited-access Teams channels
• Secure file transfer methods
We do not sell or rent client information.

8. DOCUMENT RETENTION
Aureus retains records according to:
• IRS Circular 230
• State board of accountancy rules
• Professional liability guidelines
Typical retention is 7 years, unless otherwise required by law.
We do not guarantee indefinite storage of your documents; clients should maintain their own copies of tax returns and financial records.
9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aureus is not liable for:
• Tax penalties resulting from late or missing information
• Decisions or actions taken by the IRS, state agencies, or third parties
• Losses caused by inaccurate or incomplete information provided by clients
• Damages resulting from the use or inability to use our website or digital platforms
Our total liability is limited to the fees paid for the specific services giving rise to the claim.

Aureus does not provide legal advice.
Any legal matters should be directed to a licensed attorney.
11. WEBSITE USE
By using our website, you agree not to:
• Engage in fraudulent or unlawful activity
• Attempt to breach or bypass security settings
• Copy, distribute, or misuse any content without permission
