Do I need my new agent's permission first?
Yes. Texas law requires your new registered agent to consent to serve before the change is filed. If you're using a commercial agent service, they'll usually provide this as part of signup. If it's a person, they just need to agree in writing, and you'll confirm that on the order form.
Can I use a P.O. Box as the registered office?
No. Texas requires a physical street address in Texas where the agent can be found during business hours.
Can I be my own registered agent?
Yes, if you have a Texas street address. Keep in mind that address becomes public record.
